When I found my "Saratoga Trunk" at the swap meet back in 1992, this picture in the lid was probably what sold me on purchasing the old dried up leather-covered trunk for $75.00. I knew very little at the time about lithographs. I still don't know very much about them.
From what I have learned, this is most likely a "Chromolithograph" and one of high quality that may have taken months to create
The lithograph or chromolithograph that I have nicknamed "The Heidi Scene". It reminds me so much of the Grandfather's place in the Swiss Alps, with Heidi greeting the pastor and his wife.
